Hi! I’m Allison,
IBCLC, LCCE, infant bodywork practitioner, as well as my most important role of being a mom and wife to my amazing children and husband. Having my own babies changed my life! Since my first child was born in 2014, I have been fascinated with promoting physiological birth and early parenting. I became a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator in 2019 and began teaching Childbirth Prep classes at Santiam Hospital where I continue to work. This has allowed me to support expecting parents in preparing for birth and life after birth, with a special focus on empowering individuals to advocate for themselves to reach their unique goals.
In 2022, I became a Certified Lactation Counselor and began supporting families on their infant feeding journeys in the hospital setting. The counseling aspect of this work was particularly interesting to me - holding space for all of the complex emotions involved with this exciting and sometimes anxiety-provoking time in one’s life. During this time, I became introduced to the benefits of infant bodywork on a baby’s well-being, and especially of the impacts to the breastfeeding relationship.
I continued my work in lactation and became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in early 2026. As an IBCLC, I am able to provide advanced lactation support for a variety of complex breastfeeding and infant feeding issues.
Additionally, in 2026, I completed a clinical mentorship with Jen Holland in the Baby Listening Method of infant bodywork. This modality is an approach to understanding babies by learning to recognize what they are communicating through their bodies and behaviors. Through gentle hands-on touch, Baby Listening is comprised of integrating nervous system awareness, body-based assessment, co-regulation, and a deep respect for babies as mammals whose bodies and brains expect touch, movement, and connection. In other words, this work can change babies’ lives and their parents’ lives for the better!
We were not designed to go through parenting in the vacuum of modern day life. We were meant to be surrounded by our families and our village, and to learn from the wisdom of many others before us. I aspire to be part of your village, and would love to share what I’ve learned through my years of experience as a mother and as a supporter of mothers.
